Review of the new Tesla update (2022.36). 4 main differences

Recently, Tesla announced an update for computers in cars. It is worth noting that the update 2022.32 actually just came out, however, we are already preparing for the novelty. Why the new version is in such a hurry is anyone’s guess. And today we would consider the main differences between 2022.36 and 2022.32 and “test” new features.

By the way, did you know that Tesla calls its updates according to the year and week (by account). Thus, the new update comes out in 2022 at 36 weeks… as you can see, already belatedly)

Typically, Tesla releases an update every four weeks, but sometimes it can take longer to develop, test, or fix bugs, leaving the version number behind schedule.  However, it’s not scary, right?

So, let’s look at the new features that the new version promises us, and at the same time, we will analyze how much it differs from the previous one and how convenient the novelty will be.

New language

As a rule, every Tesla update adds support for a new language. This is a cool tradition, because Tesla is so popular all over the world, and there are now about 30 languages in the interface.  Update 2022.36 introduces a new language for the interface. And which one would you think? It’s Lithuanian!  Now it will be possible to drive a car in Lithuania! Isn’t that good news?) Seems like a great innovation.

Additional notifications

A few years ago, the forums of Tesla fans simply blew up the news about the addition to the management of the possibility of notifications through the smartphone in case the doors, trunk, or windows of your Tesla remained open at a time when you are not inside the car.

Tesla owners have already felt all the charms of this function in version 2022.32 and, I must say, it is gaining immense popularity in discussions on the forums.

By the way, this lock can be disabled if you, for example, are at home, and your Tesla remained in a private yard.

Supercharger Updates

Now you can find not only the nearest Supercharger but also all available in a certain area.

In the navigation system of the car, an additional window appeared with information about the location of the supercharger.

Your Tesla will show you the number of available devices, the price, and even the available extras near that place (like food or hotel).

In 2022.36, Tesla redesigned the pop-up window and will display usage history for each Supercharger location.

By the way, in this application, you will also be able to track the busiest hours of the point of operation and even, if necessary, hourly analysis of the work of the supercharger.  This way, you’ll be able to plan your trip with this information in mind and calculate the stopping time to charge.

Not bad, right?)

New Energy app

As you know, the first electric cars predicted energy consumption, so to speak, under ideal conditions. This did not include subjective reasons such as wind speed, amount of humidity, people charging the phone and other equipment, multimedia, and so on.

In version 2022.36 – this big flaw is fixed. Perhaps this is the biggest difference in this version. The forecasts are very well refined.

In addition, the new version presents a modified energy application that will show you in detail how exactly your car spends energy.

In other words, the new app will allow you to track not only the amount of energy that Tesla uses during operation but also the energy that is consumed while parking.

e-cars

This is a completely new solution that was not previously available in older versions.

For convenience, in the new version, Tesla shows the energy used not in kW, but in percentage. In general, the graph is very easy to understand and does not require additional studies. Even an unprepared driver will be able to easily understand his data.

In addition to detailed information, the application offers useful tips on how to improve the efficiency of your car.

Visually, the app will also be slightly modified. At the top of the energy graph in your interface (along with the “Consumption” and “Trip” tabs), a new “Parking” tab will appear, in which you will be able to track the amount of energy consumed while parking.

Interesting note: Now the color of the graph will change depending on how large the deviation from the predicted data is. This is very convenient when you plan a trip according to the forecasts of the application.

In general, the chart has undergone quite a lot of external changes. Much you will be able to edit in manual mode (for example, time frames since the last departure or other periods).

We’re already looking forward to seeing innovations in the dark. It will undoubtedly be the best of the company’s automotive computer editors.

By the way, usually, Tesla does not disclose all the innovations in the announcement, thereby further fueling interest in the new version. So, it is quite possible that with the release of the update we will see many more interesting chips.

However, even the announcement already shows that the update will definitely appeal to many Tesla fans.

With a new energy application, the company is reaching a new level in the energy sector. And it is unlikely that anyone will be able to catch up with it in the next decade at least!

So, when to expect an update? Based on the forecasts on the official website of the company, we can assume that we will see the new version in operation literally in the next couple of weeks!
